Site24x7 is a full infrastructure suite with APM, real user monitoring, servers and logs, but its website checks poll once a minute until you reach Enterprise Plus Web at $899 a month billed annually. If you want sub-minute detection, UptimeRobot gets you there for roughly one twenty-third of the price. If you want one vendor for application performance as well as uptime, only Site24x7 does that.

Most people who type this query are trying to answer a small question, which is where to point a handful of website checks, and the two candidates in front of them answer very different questions. Site24x7 is Zoho's infrastructure monitoring platform. Uptime is one module inside it, sitting alongside server agents, application performance monitoring, real user monitoring, network device monitoring and log management. UptimeRobot does uptime, and almost nothing else.

That difference decides the comparison more than any feature checkbox. If your shortlist exists because a site went down and nobody noticed, the specialist is the right shape of tool and the suite is an expensive way to solve it. If your shortlist exists because you are consolidating four monitoring vendors into one contract, the specialist cannot do the job at any price.

UptimeRobot is now the fast one

This reversed during 2026. UptimeRobot used to put 30-second checks behind its top tier. It now ships them on Team at about $38 a month billed annually, and 15-second checks on Scale at about $82. Site24x7 still polls websites once a minute on every plan below Enterprise Plus Web.

Site24x7 is the broad one

Nothing on the UptimeRobot price list touches APM traces, RUM, network devices or log search. If those words are on your requirements list, this comparison is already over and the answer is Site24x7. It also checks from a far larger location set.

Free tiers are not equivalent

UptimeRobot's free plan carries 50 monitors at a 5-minute interval, but it is intended for non-commercial use and excludes SSL monitoring. Site24x7 leads with a 30-day trial of the paid product, which is a different offer with a different purpose.

The add-on question is the real cost question

Site24x7 bills by monitor type, and the plan you start on rarely stays the plan you pay for. Advanced monitor types, APM and extra checks are add-ons layered onto the base subscription, which is why user reviews so consistently describe the pricing as hard to predict as monitoring scales. If you are budgeting, price the monitors you expect in year two, not the ones you are adding this week.

What we could not confirm at source

Site24x7's own pages disagree about the free forever tier. Its pricing pages describe up to 50 free resources, while some older pages still say 5 monitors. Take 50 as the current figure but confirm it at signup if a free tier is the reason you are considering them. Treat the per-plan monitor counts above as the published allowance rather than a hard ceiling, since Site24x7 sells top-ups against most of them.

UptimeRobot pricing in full, and why other pages have it wrong

UptimeRobot restructured its plans during 2026. Most comparison articles and pricing directories still describe the old four-tier lineup, quote Solo at around $7 to $9, and put 30-second checks on Enterprise. That lineup no longer exists. There is now a Scale tier, 30-second checks have moved down to Team, and 15-second checks are available for the first time.

Check the currency before you quote a number

UptimeRobot renders its pricing page in the visitor's local currency. Open it from Europe and you get euro figures that are not conversions of the dollar list, and they do not match. Every number in the table above is the US dollar list price, read from a US request and cross-checked against a second independent read. If a figure you find elsewhere disagrees, check which currency and which billing basis it was captured in first.

SMS runs on a credit meter

Each paid plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and after that credits are bought in packs that run from $3 for 10 up to $100 for 1,000. Most countries consume one credit per SMS and two per voice call. A noisy week with a three-person escalation list burns through an allowance faster than teams expect, so it is worth pricing your worst month rather than an average one.

This is the single largest gap between the two products, and it is a recent development. Site24x7 reserves 30-second website polling for Enterprise Plus Web. UptimeRobot ships the same interval on a $39 plan. Unless you need the rest of the Site24x7 suite, paying the difference for sampling rate alone is very hard to justify.

Why interval matters at all

Your check interval is a sampling rate, and it sets the floor on how long an outage can run before anyone knows. A 60-second interval means a minute of downtime can pass unrecorded. On a 99.99% monthly target, which allows 4 minutes 23 seconds in total, that single minute is roughly 23% of the entire budget spent just noticing.

When one minute is genuinely fine

Most sites do not need sub-minute detection. If your target is 99.9%, you have 43 minutes and 50 seconds a month to play with, and a 60-second sample costs about 2% of it. Brochure sites, internal tools and anything without a contractual uptime commitment are well served at a minute, and you should not pay extra for speed you cannot use.

Faster sampling is not confirmation

Checking more often also finds more transient blips, so a faster interval without a confirmation rule mostly buys you more false pages at three in the morning. Ask any vendor what happens between the first failed check and the alert, and treat a vague answer as a warning about how many nights you will lose.

UptimeRobot's Team plan is about $45 a month, or about $38 billed annually, for 100 monitors at 30-second checks. That is the same headline specification for less money, and their Scale plan reaches 15 seconds at $83 where we only match that on a custom Enterprise agreement. If price per monitor at a given interval is your decision rule, buy UptimeRobot.

Two things are genuinely different here. The first is what happens between a failed check and your phone ringing: we re-run every failure from all three regions (Virginia, Frankfurt and Singapore) and only page when the failure is confirmed, and that rule is published rather than implied. The second is SMS. We include it on every plan with no credit balance to top up, where UptimeRobot meters it and Site24x7 varies the allowance by tier. If you page a rotation of five people, metered SMS is a line item that grows exactly when your month is already going badly.

What we do not do is worth saying plainly too: no APM, no real user monitoring, no log management, no server agent metrics, no domain expiry tracking, and no free plan. If any of those is on your list, we are not the answer and the sections above tell you which vendor is.
