the buyer's math

What downtime costs vs what a plan costs

Industry estimates put enterprise downtime at $5,600 per minute. You do not need enterprise numbers: for a store doing $200,000 a month, one lost checkout hour is roughly $274, and outages rarely stop at one hour. The Team plan costs $564 a year. Catching a single incident an hour earlier usually pays for the whole subscription, and the SLA reports on Business are what you attach to the quarterly customer review.

pricing questions

How the billing actually works

Product questions live in the full uptime monitoring FAQ. These are the ones finance asks.

What counts as a monitor?

One checked thing: a URL, an IP, a TCP/UDP port, an SSL certificate or a cron heartbeat. Checking the same domain over HTTP and ping counts as 2 monitors, because they are 2 independent checks.

Do checks cost extra?

No. The check interval is part of the plan. 30-second checks on Team and Business run at no extra cost, on every monitor, from all 3 regions. There is no per-check metering anywhere.

Can I change plans?

Yes, upgrade or downgrade any time from the billing screen. Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated. Downgrades apply at the next renewal, and your monitors keep running through the change.

What happens if I hit my monitor limit?

Nothing breaks. Every existing monitor keeps checking and alerting exactly as before. You just cannot add a new monitor until you remove one or move up a plan.

Do you charge per alert?

No. SMS, email, Slack and webhook alerts are unlimited on every plan. There are no SMS credit packs and no per-message fees, whether you get 2 alerts a year or 200.

How does yearly billing work?

You pay 12 months up front at 20% off: Starter $180 a year, Team $564, Business $1,812. You can switch from monthly to yearly at any time and the unused balance is credited.
