Catchpoint alternative and Catchpoint pricing after the LogicMonitor acquisition

Short answer: LogicMonitor completed its purchase of Catchpoint on December 2, 2025, and catchpoint.com/pricing now redirects to LogicMonitor's price page, where Catchpoint's synthetics are an add-on with no published price. If what you need from Catchpoint is website, API, port and certificate checks from outside your network, AlertPing Team does that from two regions every 30 seconds for $348 a year, and the price is on the page.

catchpoint and logicmonitor

What the LogicMonitor deal changed for Catchpoint customers

Catchpoint built a global synthetic monitoring network with agents in ISPs and cloud regions, sold to enterprises on quoted contracts. LogicMonitor, a hybrid observability platform billed per hybrid unit, bought it in a deal reported at more than $250 million and folded the products into its own catalog.

LogicMonitor's pricing FAQ now says Catchpoint capabilities are sold as LM Synthetics and Internet Performance, LM Real User Monitoring with Session Replay, and LM Endpoint Monitoring. They are not part of the Essentials, Advanced or Signature packages. You add them to a package or buy them separately, and the price comes from sales.

The same FAQ says existing contracts stay in effect for their current term and the account team reviews package options at renewal. That renewal is the natural moment to ask what you actually use. If it is mostly uptime and API checks, the per-unit math in our LogicMonitor pricing breakdown shows what the platform side costs.

catchpoint pricing

How much Catchpoint costs, and what is actually published

There is no public Catchpoint price list, before or after the acquisition. What LogicMonitor publishes is the platform around it. Packages are priced per hybrid unit a month, where one unit is one monitored device, one cloud IaaS resource, seven PaaS resources or five wireless access points. The footnote calls these starting list prices based on standard minimum quantities and terms, and the minimums are not printed.

LM Synthetics and Internet Performance

Quote only

The Catchpoint product. Add-on on every package or bought on its own.

LM Essentials

$16 / unit / mo

Up to 999 units. LM Uptime is an add-on here, not included.

LM Advanced

$27 / unit / mo

LM Uptime included. Catchpoint synthetics still an add-on.

AlertPing Team

$29 / mo yearly

100 monitors, 30-second checks, 2 regions, status pages. $59 month to month.

The upgrade you pay for to get uptime checks inside LogicMonitor

If you leave Catchpoint and want external checks to stay in LogicMonitor, the published route is LM Uptime, which is included from Advanced up. A team on Essentials pays the $11 difference on every hybrid unit, not only on the endpoints it checks. LM Uptime runs from five LogicMonitor checkpoints.

The figures on the right use list prices and ignore the unpublished minimums, so treat them as a floor. They are a fair comparison only for the external-check part of the job: Advanced also brings things AlertPing does not do, such as agent and SNMP monitoring of the devices themselves.

Lists of Catchpoint competitors tend to mix full observability suites with simple uptime tools. The table sticks to products that run checks from outside your network and publish a price, so you can rough out a budget today. Figures are each vendor's own list price in US dollars.

Where Catchpoint is still the better tool

  • Internet path visibility: BGP monitoring, DNS and CDN measurement, and Internet Sonar for telling a third-party outage from your own.
  • Vantage points inside ISPs and cloud regions around the world. Two regions do not measure how a user in Jakarta or Johannesburg experiences you.
  • Scripted multi-step browser transactions, real user monitoring with session replay, and endpoint monitoring for remote staff.
  • Heartbeat checks as often as every 5 seconds, against our fastest 15 seconds on Enterprise.

If your SLA lives or dies on those measurements, stay and negotiate. If your Catchpoint tests are mostly "is the login page up and is the API returning 200", you are paying an internet-performance price for an uptime job.

the uptime job

What AlertPing covers when you move uptime tests off Catchpoint

HTTP and API checks

Status code, keyword and response time on every URL or endpoint, with headers and a request body for APIs.

Second-region confirmation

A failure from one region is re-checked from the second region before anyone is paged, which cuts false alarms.

SSL and port checks

Certificate expiry warnings and TCP port checks for mail, databases and custom services.

Status pages

A public status page on every plan, and up to 20 with a custom domain on Business.

Alerts where people are

Email, SMS, Slack and webhooks on every plan, escalation chains and on-call hours from Team.

Cron heartbeats

Scheduled jobs ping a URL. If the ping does not arrive on time, you get the alert.

Plans and limits are on the AlertPing pricing page. If the bigger question is which synthetic tool to pick at all, the synthetic monitoring tools comparison prices the field per check.

migration

How to move uptime tests out of Catchpoint before the renewal call

Start about 90 days before the term ends. A quoted contract is easiest to shrink when you arrive with a list of tests you no longer need, and a split setup is normal: keep Catchpoint or LM Synthetics for the internet-path work, and move plain availability checks somewhere cheaper.

LogicMonitor shops thinking about the wider platform can read our LogicMonitor competitors guide first.

  1. 1

    Export the test list

Pull every Catchpoint test with its type, frequency and node count, and tag each one as uptime, API, transaction or network.

  2. 2

Rebuild the uptime and API tests

One AlertPing monitor per URL, endpoint or port, with the same expected status, keyword and timeout.

  3. 3

    Copy the alert routing

Recreate recipients as escalation chains with delays and on-call hours, and point the status page at the new monitors.

  4. 4

    Run both for two weeks

Compare alerts side by side. Differences usually come from node count and retry settings, not from the check itself.

  5. 5

    Renew only what is left

Go into the renewal with the shorter test list and ask for a quote on that scope alone.

questions buyers ask

Catchpoint alternative questions

Was Catchpoint acquired by LogicMonitor?

Yes. LogicMonitor announced on December 2, 2025 that it had completed its acquisition of Catchpoint, the internet performance and digital experience monitoring company. Press coverage put the deal at more than $250 million. Catchpoint products are now sold by LogicMonitor as LM Synthetics and Internet Performance, LM Real User Monitoring and LM Endpoint Monitoring.

How much does Catchpoint cost?

Catchpoint does not publish a price. Its pricing URL now redirects to LogicMonitor, which lists Catchpoint capabilities as add-ons outside its Essentials, Advanced and Signature packages and asks buyers to contact sales. The packages themselves list at $16, $27 and $53 per hybrid unit a month, subject to unpublished minimums.

What are the best Catchpoint alternatives?

For internet-path and global experience monitoring, the closest alternatives are other enterprise synthetic platforms such as Cisco ThousandEyes and Dynatrace. For uptime, API and certificate checks with a published price, Checkly, ITRS Uptrends, Datadog Synthetics and AlertPing are the usual shortlist. AlertPing Team costs $348 a year for 100 monitors at 30 seconds.

Who are Catchpoint competitors?

Catchpoint competes with Cisco ThousandEyes for network and internet visibility, with Dynatrace, Datadog and New Relic for synthetic tests inside an observability suite, and with ITRS Uptrends, Checkly and hosted uptime monitors for website and API availability. Since the acquisition it also sits inside LogicMonitor, so LogicMonitor competitors are now Catchpoint competitors too.

Is my Catchpoint contract still valid after the acquisition?

LogicMonitor says existing contracts remain in effect for their current term, and your account team reviews platform package options at renewal. Moving to a LogicMonitor package is not required before your current agreement ends. That makes the renewal date the practical deadline for deciding what to keep.

Does LogicMonitor include Catchpoint in its platform packages?

No. LogicMonitor states that LM Synthetics and Internet Performance, LM Real User Monitoring with Session Replay and LM Endpoint Monitoring are not currently included in LM Essentials, LM Advanced or LM Signature Plus Edwin AI. They are added to a package or bought separately, priced by sales.

Can AlertPing replace Catchpoint completely?

No. AlertPing checks websites, APIs, ports, SSL certificates and cron heartbeats from two regions (US East and EU Central), with status pages and phone, SMS and Slack alerts. It does not do BGP or DNS path analysis, ISP-level vantage points, scripted browser journeys or real user monitoring. Many teams use it for the availability tests and keep an enterprise tool for the rest.

How fast does AlertPing check compared with Catchpoint?

AlertPing checks every 60 seconds on Starter, every 30 seconds on Team and Business, and every 15 seconds on Enterprise. Catchpoint advertises heartbeat monitoring as often as every 5 seconds. For a public website or API, 30-second checks confirmed from a second region catch an outage within about a minute.

how we page you

Two regions have to agree

A single failed probe never wakes anybody. A second region, US East or EU Central, re-checks first, so a hiccup on one route is not a 3am phone call.

what a plan covers

SMS is in the price, not in credits

Email, Slack and webhook alerts are unlimited on every plan, SMS comes with a monthly allowance, and each plan hosts status pages. No credit packs, no per-message fee, no per-monitor math.

how setup works

One URL, no agent to install

Paste the address, choose where alerts go, and the first check runs from both regions. No agent, no config file, nothing to deploy on your side.

Uptime and API checks with the price on the page

Websites, APIs, ping hosts, ports, SSL certificates and cron heartbeats, confirmed from a second region. Team watches 100 monitors every 30 seconds for $59 a month, or $348 a year.
