compare · alertping vs uptime.com
Uptime.com alternative with 30-second checks and flat pricing
Short answer: Uptime.com is a capable, enterprise-leaning platform with 80-plus global probe locations, scripted transaction monitoring and real user monitoring. If you need synthetic user journeys and probes inside private networks, it earns its price. But its fastest check is one minute, and one-minute checks only arrive on the $285-a-month Premium plan; the $20 Starter checks every ten minutes. AlertPing checks every 30 seconds, confirms from three regions, includes SMS, and starts at $19 a month flat.

the real difference
Global synthetic platform, or fast focused uptime
Both tools check whether your sites and APIs are up, so on the surface they look alike. The split is depth versus speed. Uptime.com is built for teams that want scripted multi-step journeys, real user data and probes in many countries. AlertPing is built to page you fast, from three regions, the second something breaks, without a plan ladder to climb to get there.
uptime.com
Breadth and global reach
Uptime checks plus scripted transaction monitoring, page-speed checks, real user monitoring and 80-plus global probe locations, including private locations that run behind your firewall. For an enterprise that has to prove a user can complete a full login-to-checkout journey from a dozen countries, that depth is the point.
Since 2025 the pricing is modular: you start on a plan, then add checks, transactions, RUM pageviews and locations. The fastest polling, one minute, and unlimited SMS sit on the Premium tier, so the speed and the reach both cost more.
alertping
Faster checks, flat price
HTTP and HTTPS checks, API monitoring with JSON body assertions, ping, TCP port checks, SSL expiry and status pages, all at a 30-second interval on the entry plan, confirmed from three regions before you are paged.
No scripted transactions, no RUM, and three regions rather than eighty. If you need those, Uptime.com is the better buy and we will say so. If you need to know fast that something is down, you get that on the first plan, with SMS included and a bill you can predict.
To be fair to Uptime.com: it is a mature product with real synthetic and RUM capabilities that we do not have, and a global probe network far larger than ours. This page is not a claim that it is worse. It is a claim that if your job is uptime, SSL and status pages, you should not have to reach a $285 plan to get checks faster than once a minute.
side by side
AlertPing vs Uptime.com, row by row
Uptime.com figures below were read from uptime.com on July 19, 2026. They moved to modular pricing in 2025, so the plan you build may differ; check their current page before you buy. Our numbers are on the uptime monitoring pricing page.
| AlertPing | Uptime.com | |
|---|---|---|
| Fastest check interval | 30 seconds (Team plan and up) | 1 minute, on the Premium plan only |
| Entry plan interval | 60 seconds ($19 Starter); 30s from $59 | 10 minutes (Starter, $20/mo) |
| Entry price | $19/mo flat | $20/mo Starter, modular add-ons above |
| Multi-region confirmation | 3 regions confirm before alerting | Multiple locations; 80-plus available on higher tiers |
| SMS alerts | Included on every plan | Unlimited SMS on Premium; limited below |
| SSL and domain checks | Yes | Yes |
| API and content assertions | Yes, status, body and response time | Yes, plus scripted API checks |
| Scripted transaction monitoring | No | Yes, multi-step user journeys |
| Real user monitoring (RUM) | No | Yes, on higher tiers |
| Status pages | Yes, hosted, on every plan | Yes, count scales with tier |
| Free plan | No, free trial only | No, free trial only |
The single row that decides it for most buyers is the first two. If you want checks faster than once a minute, Uptime.com asks you to reach Premium; AlertPing gives you 30 seconds on the entry plan. If you genuinely need scripted journeys or RUM, the bottom rows decide it the other way.
what it costs
Where the Uptime.com bill actually lands
The entry price is close to ours, but the two things most teams want, faster checks and enough SMS, live near the top of the ladder. These are the packaged tiers as of July 2026; the modular calculator can move the real number either way.
| Plan | Price | Check interval | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $20/mo | 10 minutes | 20 checks, 1 transaction, 1 API check, 1 user |
| Essential | $67/mo | 3 minutes | 50 checks, 5 transactions, 10 API checks, custom status pages |
| Premium | $285/mo | 1 minute | 200 checks, unlimited users, unlimited SMS, 80-plus locations, RUM |
| AlertPing | from $19/mo | 30s (Team+) | Fast checks, 3-region confirm, SMS included, status pages, flat price |
Read the intervals against the SLA math: a 10-minute check cannot honestly measure anything tighter than about 99.5%, and a 99.99% SLA needs checks every 30 seconds. On Uptime.com that resolution starts at $285; on AlertPing it is the default.
where they win
When Uptime.com is the right call
We would rather you buy the right tool than churn in a month. Pick Uptime.com if any of these is a real requirement, not a nice-to-have.
Scripted user journeys
If you need to confirm a real multi-step flow, log in, add to cart, check out, runs end to end, their transaction monitoring does that. We assert on single-page content and API responses, not scripted browser journeys.
Global and private probes
80-plus locations worldwide plus probes that run inside your own network are far beyond our three-region model. If you must prove performance from many specific countries or behind a firewall, that reach matters.
Real user monitoring
RUM captures what actual visitors experience in their browsers, which synthetic checks cannot. We do not offer it. If you want field performance data alongside uptime, that is a real reason to choose them.
Choose AlertPing if
- You want 30-second checks without reaching a $285 plan to get them.
- You need SMS that wakes someone, included, not metered by tier.
- Your job is uptime, SSL and status pages, not RUM or scripted journeys.
- You want one flat, predictable bill rather than a module calculator.
Choose Uptime.com if
- You need scripted multi-step transaction monitoring.
- You require probes in many countries or inside private networks.
- You want real user monitoring alongside synthetic checks.
- You are standardizing a larger team on one enterprise platform.
questions
Uptime.com alternative questions, answered
What is the best Uptime.com alternative?
For teams that mainly need uptime, SSL and status pages, AlertPing is a strong alternative: it checks every 30 seconds on every plan, confirms from three regions and includes SMS, starting at $19 a month. For scripted transactions, RUM or 80-plus global probes, Uptime.com or a full observability suite is the better fit.
How much does Uptime.com cost?
Uptime.com starts at about $20 a month for the Starter plan, with Essential around $67 and Premium around $285 as of July 2026. Since 2025 it uses modular pricing, so add-on checks, transactions, RUM and locations change the real total. One-minute checks require the Premium tier.
Does Uptime.com offer 30-second checks?
No. Uptime.com's fastest check interval is one minute, and that speed is on the Premium plan; the Starter plan checks every ten minutes. AlertPing checks every 30 seconds on the Team plan and up, which is the resolution a tight SLA of 99.99% actually requires.
Does Uptime.com have a free plan?
Uptime.com does not have a permanent free plan; it offers a free trial and a money-back window. AlertPing also has no free tier, only a trial, so neither tool is the pick if a permanent free plan is your requirement. UptimeRobot is the usual choice there, with the tradeoffs covered on our comparison.
30-second checks without the $285 tier
Uptime, API, SSL and status pages, checked every 30 seconds from three regions, SMS included, one flat price from $19. Running in under a minute.
