NodePing alternative with a flat monthly price and 30-second checks included, plus NodePing pricing compared
Short answer: NodePing is one of the cheapest serious monitoring services in the US, $25 a month for 200 monitors, and at 100 monitors every 30 seconds it costs about $45 against our $59. The catch is that every sub-minute check is billed per monitor and charged after the month ends. AlertPing Team is a fixed $59 a month, $29 billed yearly, with 30-second checks, escalation and 300 SMS inside it, and Business undercuts NodePing at 500 monitors.

the real difference
A base price plus a speed meter, or one number
Both tools run scheduled checks from outside your network and alert you when something fails. NodePing has done it since 2010 and is well liked by sysadmins. The difference is how the bill is built. NodePing charges a plan fee, a fee for each monitor above the bundle, and a separate monthly fee for each monitor you run faster than once a minute. AlertPing publishes plan prices that already include the speed.

Cheap base plans, metered speed
Personal is $10 a month for 5 monitors, Professional $25 for 200 and Premiere $80 for 200. Extra monitors cost $0.50, $0.40 and $0.25 each. Users and notifications are unlimited on every plan, which means SMS is not capped. Sub-minute checks cost $0.20 per monitor a month at 30 seconds and $0.40 at 15 seconds, calculated on peak usage and invoiced the following month.

The speed is part of the plan
Starter is $49 a month for 20 monitors at 60 seconds. Team is $59 for 100 monitors at 30 seconds with escalation and on-call. Business is $189 for 500 monitors with 20 status pages and a custom domain. Yearly billing is half price. Every failure is confirmed from a second region before anyone is paged, and nothing is added to next month's invoice.

what you actually pay
NodePing pricing against AlertPing at the sizes teams buy
The NodePing column adds the plan fee, any monitors above the bundle and the sub-minute fee for every enabled monitor. We pick whichever NodePing plan is cheapest for the case.
| Size | NodePing arithmetic | NodePing a month | AlertPing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 monitors every 60 s | Personal $10 + 15 extra at $0.50 | $17.50 | $49 Starter ($24 yearly) |
| 100 monitors every 60 s | Professional $25, 200 included | $25 | $59 Team ($29 yearly) |
| 100 monitors every 30 s | $25 + 100 at $0.20 | $45 | $59 Team ($29 yearly) |
| 100 monitors every 15 s | $25 + 100 at $0.40 | $65 | $378 Enterprise |
| 500 monitors every 30 s | $25 + 300 extra at $0.40 ($120) + 500 at $0.20 ($100) | $245 | $189 Business ($94 yearly) |
NodePing wins on raw price at small and mid sizes, and by a wide margin at 15 seconds. We will not argue with that. Choose it if you run a few dozen checks, if you need unlimited SMS without watching a meter, or if you manage client accounts through sub-accounts.
AlertPing wins in three places. On a yearly plan, Team is $29 a month for 100 monitors at 30 seconds against about $45 monthly. At 500 monitors every 30 seconds Business is $189 against about $245, with the SLA reporting and on-call schedules inside. And the invoice never moves: no peak-usage calculation, no surprise line the following month when a team switched a batch of monitors to 30 seconds during an incident.
being fair
Where NodePing is the better pick
Many checks, small budget
200 monitors for $25 is hard to beat. If most of them can run once a minute, the whole estate costs less than our Starter plan.
Unlimited SMS and users
NodePing does not cap notifications or seats. Our SMS allowance is large but finite, and Starter and Team cap members at 3 and 15.
Client sub-accounts and agents
Its sub-accounts give each customer a login to only their own monitors, and Premiere adds on-premise agents. Agencies reselling monitoring may prefer that.
Pick AlertPing if
- You want one price for 100 monitors at 30 seconds, with no usage line on next month's invoice.
- An on-call team needs escalation to the next person when an alert goes unanswered.
- You run around 500 monitors every 30 seconds and want the cheaper bill.
- You want a failure confirmed from a second region before anyone is woken up.
Stay with NodePing if
- Most of your monitors are fine at one check a minute.
- You need 15-second checks on a budget.
- You need unlimited users, unlimited notifications or client sub-accounts.
- You run on-premise agents inside private networks.
questions
NodePing alternative questions, answered
What is the best NodePing alternative?
For a team that wants 30-second checks, escalation and SMS at one predictable price, AlertPing Team at $59 a month is a direct fit. For the lowest possible monitor price, NodePing itself usually stays cheaper.
How much does NodePing cost?
$10 a month for 5 monitors on Personal, $25 for 200 on Professional and $80 for 200 on Premiere. Extra monitors cost $0.50, $0.40 or $0.25 each, and 30 or 15 second checks add $0.20 or $0.40 per monitor a month.
Does NodePing charge for SMS?
No. Its pricing page lists unlimited notifications on every plan, with a note that delivery to some countries cannot be guaranteed. AlertPing includes 100 to 3,000 SMS a month by plan.
How often does NodePing check?
Every minute by default, and every 30 or 15 seconds on most monitor types for an extra monthly fee per monitor. AlertPing includes 30 seconds on Team and Business and 15 seconds on Enterprise.
Does NodePing have a free plan?
No. It offers a 15-day free trial and a refund in the first 30 days. AlertPing is a paid service too, priced at $49 a month for 20 monitors.
Can I move my checks from NodePing?
Yes. NodePing has an API that lists every check with its target and interval, so you can export them and recreate them here. Run both for a week, compare alerts, then cancel the old plan.
how we page you
Three regions have to agree
A single failed probe never wakes anybody. The other regions re-check first, so a hiccup on one route is not a 3am phone call.
what a plan covers
SMS is in the price, not in credits
Email, Slack and webhook alerts are unlimited on every plan, SMS comes with a monthly allowance, and each plan hosts status pages. No credit packs, no per-message fee, no per-monitor math.
how setup works
One URL, no agent to install
Paste the address, choose where alerts go, and the first check runs from all three regions. No agent, no config file, nothing to deploy on your side.
Monitoring with the speed already in the price
100 monitors every 30 seconds from three regions, escalation and 300 SMS a month on Team for $59.
