The 30-second interval is only on Business, so getting it costs 3.27 times the Superior price, and SMS alerts come as a monthly credit allowance of 75 or 400 rather than being included.

StatusCake sells three self-serve tiers and a custom Enterprise plan. The pricing page shows both columns behind an annual and monthly toggle, and unlike several competitors both sets of numbers are printed in the page itself, so there is nothing to guess.

How much does StatusCake cost per year?
Paying yearly saves 16.66% on both paid plans. That is exactly two months free: the yearly Superior price of $244.92 is ten months of the monthly $24.49, give or take a few cents of rounding.

How much does one StatusCake monitor cost?
This is where StatusCake is genuinely hard to beat. Divide the plan price by the monitors it includes and the per-monitor cost is lower than almost anything else in the category.

We put our own plans in that table on purpose. If you need a hundred one-minute checks and nothing else, StatusCake Superior at $20.41 is the cheaper buy and we would not argue with it. The comparison only turns when you fill fewer monitors than the plan includes, or when you need the 30-second interval.
Which StatusCake plan has 30-second checks?
Only Business. Superior stops at one minute, so the price of halving your detection time is the jump from $24.49 to $79.99 a month, or $20.41 to $66.66 on yearly billing. That is 3.27 times the price and $555 a year extra on yearly billing.
To be fair to StatusCake, the jump buys more than an interval: 200 more monitors, 325 more SMS credits, 8 more team members, an audit log, dashboards, custom alert email templates and the option to pay by invoice. If you use those, Business is good value. If what you actually wanted was 30 seconds on 40 endpoints, you are paying for 260 monitors you will not create.
That is the one case where we are cheaper. AlertPing Team gives 100 monitors at 30 seconds for $59 a month, or $564 a year, which is $235.92 a year less than StatusCake Business on yearly billing and $251.88 less on monthly. The full side-by-side is on our StatusCake alternative page.
Does StatusCake charge for SMS alerts?
Not directly, but it rations them. Superior includes 75 SMS credits a month and Business includes 400. The Free plan includes none, so free accounts alert by email and integrations only.
Whether 75 is enough depends on how many people you page. Assume one credit per text and a three-person rota that gets a down message and a recovery message. That is 6 credits an incident, so Superior's allowance covers about 12 incidents a month and Business about 66. A flapping endpoint that goes down and up repeatedly in one night can use a week of credits in an hour. AlertPing includes SMS, email, Slack and webhook alerts on every plan with no credit allowance, which matters most on exactly those bad nights.
Does StatusCake offer discounts?
Yes, two kinds. The yearly toggle is worth two months free, as above. On top of that, StatusCake's pricing FAQ lists multi-year discounts: 12.5% for two years, 25% for three and 40% for five, with the full fee paid at the start. If those percentages apply to the yearly list price, the arithmetic looks like this:

A five-year Business commitment brings 30-second checks down to an effective $40 a month, which undercuts almost everyone. It also means paying $2,399.76 today for a tool you cannot leave until 2031. Confirm the base the discount applies to with StatusCake before you budget on it.
Can you cancel StatusCake anytime?
On card billing, yes. StatusCake's terms say you can cancel a paid account at any time and keep the paid features until the end of the current billing period. There is no mid-term refund implied by that wording, so a yearly plan cancelled in month two still runs to month twelve.
Invoice billing is different, and this is the line most buyers miss. Paying by invoice is only offered on Business Yearly and above, subscriptions auto-renew, and clause 8 of the terms requires written notice by email no later than 70 days before the renewal date. Miss that window and another year is committed. If your finance team runs vendor bills through accounts payable automation, record the 70-day notice date on the vendor record when the first invoice is approved, because the renewal invoice arrives long after the deadline to stop it has passed. Invoices are due within 30 days and StatusCake issues them in USD among six other currencies.
Does StatusCake have a free plan?
Yes. Free includes 10 uptime monitors at a 5-minute interval, 1 page speed monitor, 1 SSL monitor and 1 domain monitor, with alerts through email and integrations. It has no SMS credits, no server monitors and no team members, so it suits one person watching a personal site. A 5-minute interval means an outage runs two and a half minutes on average before the first failed check, which is slow for anything that takes payments.

The agency row is the one where StatusCake wins outright, since 100 monitors at one minute for $244.92 is more coverage per dollar than we sell. The SaaS row flips because the team pays for 300 monitors to get an interval. The store row is close, and turns on whether 75 SMS credits a month will hold through a bad week.
Is StatusCake worth it?
For wide coverage at one minute, yes. Few tools match 100 monitors plus 50 SSL and 50 domain monitors for about $20 a month, and the page speed and domain checks are useful extras most uptime tools do not include. It is a weaker fit if you need a short interval on a small number of important endpoints, if several people must receive texts during long incidents, or if you will pay by invoice and could miss a 70-day notice window.
